Compassion-Where it stands in Web Design

As I look through the general definitions of “Compassion” I find that they are just a “Definition” of the word.

I.E. “Compassion is a human emotion prompted by the pain of others. More vigorous than empathy, the feeling commonly gives rise to an active desire to alleviate another’s suffering.” Found @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compassion

As I looked deeper I found these two quotes that I found very interesting and wanted to in turn, define web development by these independent views.

“Compassion is the keen awareness of the interdependence of all things.” –Thomas Merton

“Compassion is the ultimate and most meaningful embodiment of emotional maturity. It is through compassion that a person achieves the highest peak and deepest reach in his or her search for self-fulfillment.” –Arthur Jersild

As we all know that when we are thinking of what we are going to design and the ideas that we have for the site, it takes time.  It is during this time that the site is maturing into what it is going to become.  At the same time it is through our compassion that we are able to see these ideas become a reality and for us to accomplish the task of a “great” web site, from design to the back end, and to be completely satisfied with outcome and final presentation.
